SonicViz Soundtoy #5 - Mermaid game
level 3
Prototypes #3, #4, and #5 can all be thought
of as different levels within a simple game environment.
Design document
Prototype Objective:
- Develop a simple game where you have to sing a garden
into existance by mapping characters to sung notes. Each creature
or plant is related to a specific tone, with size and speed of the
objects’s animated motion related to input volume and intensity
of attack. The player “paints” the landscape into existance
by singing and moving a 3d cusror across the landscape at the same
time. A game context can be created by limiting each type of creature
or plant to a certain quantity and imposing a timelimit to create
the most aesthetically pleasing composition, which can then be judged
on a group basis as an exercise in critical thinking skills. Click
